10 Sculptural basketry circling back with Harriet Goodall

Combine basketry techniques, incorporating found and recycled metals and wires with traditional materials. Identify, gather and prepare native and non-native plants and salvage both hard and soft materials to use in the creation of contemporary woven fibre art. Learn rib basketry, twining, string making, hexagonal weave, netting and random weaving. Understand gathering found materials sustainably. You will be supported to create a series of unique works to take home.
Harriet Goodall is a professional weaver and fibre artist, leading weaving workshops nationally and internationally, including facilitating projects with indigenous weavers across the world, and helping to raise awareness of fair trade, traditional handcraft and natural dyeing.
